FAQ

Why do therapy?
Talking to someone trained and motivated to help you each week can be rewarding, surprising, challenging, and transformative.
What are your office hours?
Typically, appointments are Mondays through Thursdays, 7 AM to 4 PM, and Fridays, 7 AM to 11 AM.

More hours are available by appointment.

How long is a typical session?
A typical session is 50 minutes long, allowing me to take notes to remember what we discussed and prepare for our next session. Please let me know in our initial contact if you want or need a more extended session.
What do I do to get started?
Please complete the form at the bottom of the website to schedule your free consultation call. We’ll schedule your first appointment if we both feel we are fit well. No referral is needed.
Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance. All sessions are Self-pay.

Can I cancel the appointment? Do you have a cancellation policy?

The best work happens when you are consistent, so I hold a steady spot for you in my weekly calendar. However, we can undoubtedly reschedule your appointment if you need to do so.

If you cancel or miss your session less than 24 hours before it starts, you will be charged for the entire session reserved for you. You get one freebie per year to use for any reason. You can cancel via phone or email.

I will cancel your first session if your paperwork is not completed by 10 PM the night before your first appointment. I need that paperwork completed to be ready to give you my best as a therapist, so we’ll need to reschedule if your paperwork is incomplete.

What is a free initial phone consultation?
This consultation is your opportunity to learn more about me and get answers to questions that my website does not answer. I will also ask questions to ensure we are a good fit for each other. It is up to 15 minutes long, and please feel free to ask me whatever you would like. I want you to feel comfortable working with me to get the most out of your therapy!
Who do you work with?
I work with adult individuals (18 and over), couples, and families seeking greater connection, emotional competency, and relational skills.
What can I expect in the first session?

You can expect a lot of questions. I will be curious to get to know you. Feel free to tell me as much or as little as you want. I would also like to know what motivates you to come to therapy and what drives you to improve. We will outline some goals for you to work on, and I will help you with that!

Is our work confidential?
In most cases, our work is confidential. The only exceptions are if there is a situation involving harm to yourself or harm to another person or if there is a court order. Rest assured that even if there is a possibility of any impact on you, we will discuss it and see what we can do.
What modalities do you use?

I practice “psychodynamic and systemic” therapy, which means we explore the “dynamics and family system” of childhood and adulthood, such as relationships with parents, siblings, friends, and love interests. Patterns developed early on in your “psyche” often influence current relationships and struggles.

Awareness leads to growth, sometimes grief, and new patterns that spring from one’s choices rather than templates created in childhood.
