This is your journey, not mine.
Therapy can be a life-changing, wonderful experience. You might want to talk to a therapist for valid and essential reasons.
It’s incredible how much we can learn about ourselves when we become willing to slow our minds and bodies down and pay attention.
During every session, I will ask you if what we did today was helpful because I want you to let me know how we are doing. You can expect to take away something valuable from every session. I prioritize hearing from you about what works, and I would like to end the session with a plan of action.
I particularly value making you think and posing critical thinking questions. I heavily use values as a guide to action and planning a fantastic life for yourself, no matter what that looks like.
About Toi Dennis, Ph.D., TLMFT, MS, MSHE
Helping others comes naturally to me.
Life hasn’t always been easy for me; however, through my trials and tribulations, helping others has always been a passion of mine.
I worked in social services for over 20 years, during which time I was blessed to establish a homeless shelter for women and children and serve my community in many ways. These experiences have been foundational for my therapy practice.
Becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist has been a passion of mine for many years. Life is about creating diverse relationships and providing compassionate and professional support for individuals, couples, and families who are navigating life’s challenges.
When I am not working,
I enjoy laughing and spending time with close friends and family. Watching my teenage daughter blossom through the different high school stages is rewarding.
As an educator, helping future learners become scholars in their professions has been a blessing.
I lose myself in these activities: dancing, music, tasty food, and travel. I am a lifelong learner, constantly nourished by taking courses, training, and learning something new.
